Welcome to Vipe, the safety-first ride-hailing community. By using this platform, you agree to the following professional standards:
Vipe is built on mutual respect. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the community.
Vipe is a technology intermediary connecting independent Riders and Drivers. We are not responsible for individual user behavior or illegal activities performed via the platform. Users utilize the service at their own risk, and agree to indemnify Vipe against any legal claims arising from their breach of these terms.
To maintain the highest level of security, your full name is locked upon registration and cannot be changed without official verification. You agree to provide only accurate and truthful documentation.
Vipe is a fast, community-focused platform and does not offer or charge waiting time fees.
- Rider Readiness: Riders must be ready at the pickup location when requesting a trip or upon the driver's arrival.
- No Waiting Surcharges: Vipe drivers will not charge or collect per-minute waiting fees.
- Driver Right to Cancel: Drivers are not obligated to wait for unready riders and reserve the right to cancel the trip if the rider is not present upon arrival.
- Driver Responsibilities: Drivers are expected to fulfill accepted trips. Frequent cancellations or "dropping" rides after acceptance will lead to an immediate account audit and potential suspension.
Any attempt to manipulate GPS data, use location spoofers, or create duplicate accounts to bypass suspensions will result in a permanent hardware-level ban. Vipe and its Drivers reserve the Right of Admission to refuse service if safety is compromised.
All accounts are subject to a "Verification Lock" immediately following registration. Riders must verify their contact method (Email or Phone) to unlock platform features. Drivers must complete a secondary "Vehicle Verification" and receive manual Administrator Approval before being permitted to go online. Vipe reserves the right to decline applications that do not meet photo clarity or safety standards.
Your privacy and financial security are our top priorities. By using Vipe, you accept the following conditions:
Drivers must maintain an active Daily Pass to receive ride requests. Balance top-ups via voucher are final once redeemed. Vipe is not responsible for errors made by third-party retailers.
Vipe complies fully with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. Location data is collected strictly to connect nearby users and for safety tracking. No personal information is sold to third parties. For continued security, all detailed trip GPS history and transaction logs are automatically deleted from live servers after 14 days.
For your protection, all trips are tracked via GPS. By requesting or accepting a ride, you consent to this tracking and the sharing of your live status with designated Safety Contacts.
Drivers must maintain a valid license and vehicle registration as vetted by Vipe administrators. Any vehicle found to be unsafe or not matching the app profile will be removed from the platform.
Vipe is a technology connector and does not handle trip payments. All ride fares are paid in Cash directly between Rider and Driver. All digital balance transactions are final and non-refundable.
To protect your identity, Drivers are strictly instructed to obscure (hide) the middle five digits of their 13-digit South African ID number during the registration upload. Vipe requires only the birth date and final digits for vetting. All supplementary vehicle documentation is replaced and permanently deleted from Vipe servers immediately upon a successful vehicle information update to ensure no unnecessary personal data is stored.
